Following are the latest figures for military deaths in Iraq and Iraqi civilians killed in attacks since the U.S.-led invasion in March, 2003:

U.S.-LED COALITION FORCES:

United States 3,858

Britain 171

Other nations 134

IRAQIS: Military Between 4,900 and 6,375#

Civilians Between 76,241 and 83,057*

# = Think-tank estimates for military under Saddam Hussein killed during the 2003 war. No reliable official figures have been issued since new security forces were set up in late 2003.

* = From www.iraqbodycount.net (IBC), run by academics and peace activists, based on reports from at least two media sources. The IBC says on its Web site the figure underestimates the true number of casualties. The U.S-led military coalition toll includes casualties from Iraq and the surrounding area where troops are stationed. (Writing by David Cutler; Editing by Stephen Weeks)

So about a year ago I had something to say about Bow-Wow and I have seen the most responses to a post since…I guess thats cool, I just wish the people that respond had more ambition than being some whack rappers ‘baby-mama’. This narrow, hardly updated site points to a lot of issues that a lot of people don’t find all that important but DAMN. That ain’t right that WE are on our way to a hundred thousand deaths in Iraq and folks are arguing about much they love Bow-Wow and how much of a hater I am for using MY site to say otherwise. I would go off on some tangent/rant but honestly it just makes me a little depressed…

Really get off your damn Myspace; keep a watchful eye on your ‘leaders’; try to empower yourselves through means that benefit and uplift your community; and get the hell off my site with bad grammar and ignorance.

Excuse me did i miss something…

Woman Gets The $222,000 RIAA Shaft

How the hell is this right? WTF was that jury thinking? These record labels should be ashamed of themselves. Yet another reason not to buy music. $9,250 per song…thats a little more than itunes. Hopefully they do some online fund-raising for this lady.

At least some of the readers have a little sense:

you say “Thank God” that this woman got hot coals heaped on her head, and hit with a ridiculous sum she probably can never come close to paying, for what amounts to nothing more than a hill of beans? Don”t thank my God, He is not for stoning people for petty crimes. As for you, you”re typical of the “jaywalking is a crime too” mentality that has caused the legal system in this country to run amok. Your god is, apparently, the god of corporate wealth, and you worship the corrupt system that prosecutes middle class apple-thieves while CEOs and senators walk away with the mint. And, you”re a shill for the shady, grasping record industry (who have been guilty of actual real crimes in their illustrious history — can you say “payola”?). How do you like being one of their shills? Is it rewarding?

Rappcats

New 9-Track album from Madlib and Talib Kweli, thats free. About time some of these ‘artists’ started putting their actions behind what they talk about. “I’m against ‘the system’ but use it to purchase my recordings, because I respect/accept ‘the systems’ business model.”

Rant aside…good promotional move, especially considering the cover art and that radio wouldn’t find them jiggy enough to play anyway. Download it and tell your friends. Support NON-DRM laden bullshit, a unique approach to marketing, and all the other shit that says its double-O seven biatch!!

So i get this Pop-Up advertising some retards record titled the price of fame. . .

Why is he a rapper? Shouldn’t he be making bad movies or something like that? Kid star does not equal adult star. Somebody please send him the memo.

The price of fame is that I’m tired of seeing this joker.

(Notice title: Rapper not MC)

RIAA petitions to lower artist royalties, weakens piracy arguments

This is a good one for all those ‘protect the artists!” dick riders. Seriously folks, Fuck DRM and the RIAA.

Greedy Companies and Music and Sites We Support13 Aug 2006 03:43 pm

…after learning that the defendant had passed away, the RIAA made a motion to stay the case for 60 days in order to allow the family time to “grieve”, after which time they want to start taking depositions of the late Mr. Scantlebury’s children

Shady RIAA at it again:

Recording Industry vs The People

Nice website dedicated to following the RIAA’s shady litigation practices.

Unforgivable …

I guess puffy wanted to be the first rapper with his own smell. I wonder if it just smells just like some other colognes that were popular in the late 70’s and early 80’s. What is most unforgivable is that while the flash animation of the slideshow is impressive, this EXTREME close-up looks a little too close:

Now that’s unforgivable. Should have taken some of the web development money and gotten a better photographer.

Rappers and makeshift moguls are stupid, at least unforgivable is a real word.

Ahoy! Matee!

Looks like there’s some folks sailing the high seas in Asia. I wonder if there is some Chinese equivalent of the RIAA or if they just leave it up to the cyber-police? I would have tested this chinese yahoo out, but aside from the language barrier, I like my door on its hinges (no ATF style raids please). Plus I didnt see anything I wanted, . . . yet.
