Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting

Came across this blog entry yesterday while reading through the discussion at Slashdot on the PC snitch:

DUI Blog: “The DUI Exception to the Constitution”

Seems the slashdotter was right in that the U.S. does make Constitutional rights conditional based on the crime committed. But at the same time I think that the slashdotter seems to be missing the point of the DUI blog that he linked to.

…it is the well-intentioned zealots — those who believe strongly in the rightness of their cause –that are most willing to impose those ideas upon others.

In this particular case, the blogger is referring to the MADD organization and its intentions to save us from drunk drivers and in doing so, surrendering our rights over to the government. As this DUI blog suggests, the erosion of our rights are caused by these “well-meaning” people constantly looking out for whats best for us. And since the justice system is based on common law, loopholes to the Constitution can be applied to other cases.

This is not good. And yet, the slashdotter welcomes the idea. I guess the idea is that they do it already so its okay. And I suspect there’s a lot of people out there that feel the same or just don’t care. That ain’t right, man.

so those worms at clear channel are trying to start a pirate radio station. That’s like when major studios (Disney) putting out not so major (Miramax) films. Anyway hopefully all the big major media outlets will someday rot and die. Keeping it positive here folks.
